About Us

Evangelical

We believe the Bible is the Word of God. The Bible is our rule of faith. We derive our doctrine (our beliefs) from it.

Presbyterian

We are a congregation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in England and Wales. This means we are connected to a wider group of brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Church

Our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. We do that through the regular gathering of God’s people for worship.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

Creator of Heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ,

His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; +
the third day He rose again from the dead;

He ascended into Heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty;
from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic Church, +
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.

— From the Apostles’ Creed an ancient statement of faith.

The Westminster Standards

These represent the statement of faith in its entirety for Gloucester EPC. This Confession unites us to other churches throughout England and Wales. It was formulated in the 1600s at Westminster Chapel in London and remains the Confession of Faith for many across the world!

We work very closely with our other two Gloucestershire area EPCEW churches, Whaddon Road and Naunton Lane. Whaddon Road EPC is our sending church. That’s why you see their logo on many of our videos and why Michael preaches with some regularity for them. We are grateful for their partnership and look to seeing the Gospel go forth in the greater Gloucestershire region!

Previously Michael was an evangelist with Naunton Lane EPC and now currently works with Whaddon Road EPC to see Gloucester EPC planted.
